Senior USV Operations Trainer

Location: West Palm Beach, Florida, United States; training may take place at customer sites, government installations, vessels, waterfront facilities, and domestic or international exercise locations. Travel of up to 50% is required.

What you will do

• Plan and deliver classroom, laboratory, field-based, scenario-based, and simulation-supported training for USV operations.
• Provide hands-on instruction in command-and-control interfaces, telemetry monitoring, mission planning, autonomous systems behavior, and contingency response.
• Evaluate trainee performance, determine qualification outcomes, create remediation plans, and maintain certification and currency records.
• Contribute to instructional products, task analyses, learning hierarchies, and assessment instruments using ISD methodologies.
• Mentor junior and contract instructors, review instructional quality, and support train-the-trainer certification.
• Serve as a senior on-site training authority for government customers while enforcing range safety and emergency response procedures.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, aerospace or systems engineering, military science, or a related field, or equivalent military/defense training experience.
• At least five years of direct technical or operational training experience in defense, maritime, or unmanned systems contexts.
• Experience evaluating competency and determining qualification for complex technical systems or military platforms.
• Familiarity with Instructional Systems Design methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM.
• Active DoW Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one; ITAR/EAR work authorization requirements apply, and sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• US Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or other maritime service experience.
• Experience operating or instructing on USVs, UAVs, or autonomous systems.
• Master Training Specialist, Master Instructor, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with Navy/DoW training management systems, instructor mentorship, TOEE, JCTD, or OT&E programs.
