Director of Supply Chain (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California, with on-site work required three days per week.

Salary: $203,000–$219,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end supply chain mission across purchasing, planning, and inventory management.
• Define supply chain operating models, cross-functional interfaces, processes, and KPIs.
• Build a process-driven organization and develop functional leadership as production volume grows.
• Manage supply chain risks including obsolescence, sole-source dependencies, and geopolitical impacts.
• Develop strategic suppliers, lead supplier engagement, and improve cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and resilience.
• Integrate engineering design releases, material procurement, production planning, and mission delivery schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including 5+ years leading teams, building organizations, and managing managers.
• Manufacturing experience, ideally in aerospace, satellite, complex electromechanical, or regulated hardware production.
• Expertise across procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier development, MRP, production planning, and inventory management.
• Experience establishing operating models, processes, and KPIs from an early or immature baseline.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling supply chains from prototype or low-rate production to serial production.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR/EAR, counterfeit-part avoidance, traceability, and secure programs.
• Experience with vertical integration, make-versus-buy decisions, ERP/MRP systems, and supply chain analytics.
• APICS/ASCM, ISM, or equivalent certification.
