Reliability Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada; onsite work in a steel manufacturing mill

Salary: $69,000–$129,000 annually

What you will do

• Manage technical maintenance documentation, procedures, standards, and key maintenance variables.
• Improve asset availability, reliability, and cost efficiency through equipment data analysis, lifecycle planning, and maintenance strategy optimization.
• Support new asset specifications, procurement, installation, upgrades, investment evaluations, and supplier and service homologation.
• Conduct cause-failure analysis and contribute to solutions for routine and highly complex mill issues.
• Audit preventive and corrective maintenance work, evaluate completed tasks and rework, and reduce maintenance workload through continuous improvement.
• Use maintenance information systems to support decisions and reduce energy and resource waste.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar maintenance reliability role.
• At least 5 years of experience in steel manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with manufacturing safety procedures.
• 8-hour daytime schedule with flexibility based on business needs and an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with project management.
