Maintenance Mechanic (Electrical and Mechanical)

Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada; on-site production environment

Compensation: CAD 32–40 per hour plus up to a 5% bonus capped at 150%

What you will do

• Maintain production and facility equipment to support machinery readiness, uptime, throughput, and service-level requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnostics, changeovers, setups, adjustments, and service requests.
• Fabricate and modify parts using lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other equipment; perform welding and soldering.
• Source spare parts, monitor inventory, prepare requisitions, and coordinate maintenance activities with production and other departments.
• Support contractors, machine operators, audits, safety programs, and facility security requirements.

Requirements

• Electrical degree or comparable background; an accredited electrical engineering degree is preferred.
• At least two years of experience maintaining and repairing production equipment is ideal.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems in plant maintenance, technology, or a similar trade environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a valid Canadian work permit is required.

Nice to have

• Electrical, electronic, or laser experience.
• Post-secondary education or a technical trade certificate.
• Progression through on-the-job experience in a similar industry or role.

• Work takes place in a highly secure, demanding production environment with tight schedules.
• Safety shoes and a uniform are required on the production floor.
• Physical work includes lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and standing, kneeling, or bending for extended periods.
