TL;DR
Repair Technician I (Separation Equipment): Performing shop repairs, inspection, balancing, and reassembly of high-speed separators and decanters with an accent on mechanical diagnostics, precision measurement, and rotating equipment. Focus on determining repair scope, rebuilding and testing equipment, optimizing machine settings, and completing occasional field repairs at customer sites across the western United States.
Location: Pittsburg, Texas, United States; office-based. Occasional travel to customer sites and field repairs in the western United States, approximately 10%.

What you will do
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, balance, reassemble, install, and test high-speed separators and decanters.
- Perform vibration analysis, bearing temperature measurement, visual crack detection, wear assessment, oil quality evaluation, and noise investigations.
- Use precision measuring instruments for dimensional and T.I.R. inspections of rotating equipment.
- Determine whether components require repair or replacement and document inspection results.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize equipment performance and distinguish equipment malfunctions from process changes.
- Coordinate service-center and field projects with the service manager and service sales engineer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or higher and certification or training as a skilled technician in a highly technical field.
- Experience with vibration analysis, alignment, and balancing equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools.
- Ability to work independently at customer sites after training, with basic knowledge of controls, electrical power requirements, motor interlocks, and instrumentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, customer-service, and solution-focused skills; Microsoft Office proficiency.
Nice to have
- At least five years of food industry experience, preferably servicing separators, decanters, or other food-processing machinery.
- Familiarity with Frautech, Westfalia, Alfa-Laval, Pieralisi, and comparable equipment.
- Experience with high-speed separators and decanters used in applications across the western United States.
