Service Mechanic (Separators and Decanters)

Location: Pittsburg, Texas, US; office-based with occasional travel to customer sites and approximately 10% travel

What you will do

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, rebuild, and install high-speed separators and decanters at the service center.
• Perform vibration analysis, bearing temperature measurement, crack detection, wear assessment, oil quality evaluation, and noise diagnostics.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect dimensions and total indicated runout of shafts, bowls, and other rotating components.
• Balance rotating assemblies and perform liquid dye penetrant examinations of parts.
• Determine whether components require repair or replacement and document inspection findings.
• Travel to customer sites in the western United States for equipment removal, installation, field repairs, testing, and performance adjustments.

Requirements

• High school education or higher and certification as a skilled technician in a highly technical field.
• At least five years of food industry experience, preferably servicing food-processing machinery such as separators and decanters.
• Experience with vibration analysis, equipment alignment, balancing, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints and perform complete mechanical equipment rebuilds.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, hand-tool proficiency, and a basic understanding of controls, electrical power requirements, motor interlocks, and instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites after training and coordinate with service managers and service sales engineers.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with hirify.global Frautech, Westfalia, Alfa-Laval, and Pieralisi separation equipment.
• Experience with separator and decanter applications inside and beyond the food industry.
