Environment, Health and Safety Specialist

Location: London, UK. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office presence.

Salary: £110,000–£140,000 GBP annual salary

What you will do

• Own EHS execution across EMEA sites, including inspections, hazard and risk assessments, ergonomic reviews, and workplace incident investigations.
• Manage occupational health cases in coordination with occupational health providers, HR, and Legal.
• Support health and safety committees, emergency response teams, landlords, building managers, and contractors across relevant jurisdictions.
• Adapt and co-develop EMEA EHS programs covering emergency action plans, fire safety, ergonomics, contractor safety, occupational health, and training.
• Lead fire safety and compliance activities, including Fire Risk Assessments, remediation tracking, and duty-holder requirements.
• Manage hazardous materials, indoor air quality, water safety, Legionella, environmental reporting, training, vendors, documentation, and EHS support for new offices and countries.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with comparable EHS responsibilities, including regional or geographic ownership.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks across the UK and Ireland, with additional EU jurisdiction experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of European fire safety regulations, Fire Risk Assessments, and duty-holder responsibilities.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear decisions, challenge unsafe practices, and motivate stakeholders to act.
• Experience writing SOPs, playbooks, program documents, presentations, and training content.
• Hands-on experience with EHS incident reporting, risk assessment, learning management, and related software tools.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• NEBOSH National or International Diploma, IOSH membership, CIEH membership, or a comparable Irish/EU qualification.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, French CSE/CHSCT processes, DUERP, or German BetrSichV requirements.
• Background in occupational health, fire safety, or industrial hygiene.
• Experience establishing EHS programs for new offices or countries.
