Senior Software Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: Somerville, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with 3+ days per week in the office

Salary: $190,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Hire, mentor, and develop a senior software engineering team operating with high autonomy and quality.
• Set engineering standards for testing, observability, and AI-driven development.
• Lead cross-functional delivery of technical and customer-facing product features.
• Partner with product and design teams to share ownership of product outcomes.
• Build an AI-first engineering culture while improving delivery velocity and quality.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, operations, QA, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of SaaS software engineering experience, including complex and stable backend infrastructure.
• 2–3+ years of people management experience leading a software engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, and career development.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through technical and customer-facing feature delivery.
• Strong understanding of testing and deploying systems in multicloud and multitenant environments.
• Experience architecting systems that integrate agentic and generative AI capabilities.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, Redux, Node, Golang, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
