Senior Software Development Engineer - Agent Factory (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; at least 50% of each quarter must be spent in the office or in the field

Salary: CAD 140,000–210,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate end-to-end features across React applications, backend microservices, hirify.global platform layers, and CI/CD infrastructure.
• Develop scalable REST APIs, business logic, data models, asynchronous workflows, and cross-environment delivery capabilities.
• Integrate AI and machine learning services into secure, accessible HR and Finance products.
• Lead architecture for complex distributed systems and diagnose performance issues across databases, services, and frontend rendering.
• Apply secure coding, automated testing, observability, threat modeling, and vulnerability management throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX, Machine Learning, and platform teams while mentoring engineers and improving delivery practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including significant full-stack development experience.
• 5+ years of backend web development and relational database experience.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, frontend state management, component libraries, and modern build tooling.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or Java; experience with REST APIs, microservices, PostgreSQL, and non-relational databases.
• Experience with cloud SaaS products, AWS or GCP, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing, and observability.
• Knowledge of distributed-system architecture, secure coding, accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 or 2.2, and technical architecture leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elasticsearch, rich-text editors, document-parsing tools, C4 diagrams, or hirify.global XO.
• Experience integrating machine learning services or data pipelines into web applications.
