Software Engineer, Education

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 78,000–114,400 annually for Canada-based roles. Offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build backend services, APIs, integrations, and product infrastructure for education-focused hirify.global experiences.
• Move concepts and prototypes through implementation, launch, and iteration while balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and user impact.
• Integrate and productize ML/AI solutions with digital experience and platform engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain automation, plugins, and SDKs for CAD platforms such as Fusion, Revit, 3DS Max, and Maya.
• Contribute to frontend integrations, data pipelines, service orchestration, experimentation tooling, CI/CD, containerized deployments, observability, and service reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, researchers, frontend and ML engineers, and platform teams; document designs and APIs and participate in reviews and design discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience writing production-quality code and libraries.
• Understanding of full-stack development workflows, Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, testing, debugging, and maintainable code.
• Ability to use AI coding tools and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and product teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, attention-to-detail, and distributed-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD or 3D geometry systems, geometry kernels, meshes, B-Reps, or CAD platform plugins and automation.
• Knowledge of OpenCascade or other geometry libraries.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and deploying or monitoring cloud services.
• Frontend familiarity with JavaScript and React/Next.js.
• Experience translating research ideas, prototypes, or ambiguous product concepts into production-ready implementations, particularly in education environments.
