Software Engineer II (Fullstack)

Salary: $125,000 - $145,000

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of key systems and architect services using scalable design patterns.
• Prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications, identifying architectural weaknesses and recommending solutions.
• Collaborate with product teams and partners to identify requirements and perform code reviews.
• Develop notebook environments (Python/R) and reusable workflow templates for bioinformatics pipelines.
• Support federated data access across multi-tenant cloud environments for disease research consortia.
• Guide junior team members toward technical excellence and strategic goals.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of systems, algorithms, and software design.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data in distributed environments.
• Familiarity with lean-development principles (DRY, KISS, SOLID, YAGNI).
• Experience in healthcare or life sciences.
• Experience communicating solutions in collaboration with partners and customers.
