Compute Country Lead (AI)

Location: British Columbia, Canada; hybrid attendance in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time. Travel is required.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end strategy and coordination for Anthropic’s compute build-out in Canada.
• Coordinate leasing, financing, energy, policy, community engagement, construction, and operations workstreams.
• Lead an in-country cross-functional team without direct line authority, driving alignment and resolving blockers.
• Represent Anthropic with Canadian government officials, utilities, energy providers, and industry stakeholders.
• Build relationships supporting site, power, regulatory, and policy outcomes.
• Track risks and progress as the compute footprint scales from initial sites to multiple gigawatts.

Requirements

• Background in energy, infrastructure, or a related sector.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Strong communication skills and confidence representing the organization to senior stakeholders.
• Structured, organized, detail-oriented approach to managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Ability to learn new domains quickly, work through ambiguity, and create structure in undefined situations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale infrastructure or datacenter development.
• Established relationships with Canadian federal or provincial government bodies in energy, land use, or industrial development.
• Experience managing or overseeing capital-intensive projects.
• Familiarity with compute, cloud, or datacenter industries.
