Training Coordinator, Research & Development (Biotechnology)

Location: Onsite in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA. The role involves working and training in biology laboratories, including environments with chemical and biological reagents up to BSL-2 and potentially select agents.

Salary: $67,900–$101,000 gross annual base salary, plus potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate onboarding and ongoing training plans for Research & Development employees.
• Schedule training activities and coordinate with R&D trainers to support timely completion.
• Develop, update, and standardize laboratory training curricula in collaboration with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Control.
• Conduct training sessions and guide employees through the training process.
• Track attendance, trainee performance, and training records.
• Prepare and distribute weekly training reports and recommend continuous improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or equivalent relevant work experience; biology, chemistry, biotechnology, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of training management experience.
• Experience working in a laboratory setting and knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment handling, and safe work practices.
• Ability to work onsite in Gaithersburg, Maryland, in a biology laboratory environment with materials up to BSL-2.
• Strong organization, communication, coordination, problem-solving, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard productivity tools; U.S. work eligibility is validated through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) environments.
• Experience training in laboratories handling pathogens or select agents.
