Community Relations & Public Affairs Manager (AI Infrastructure)

Location: United States; ideally San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston, with full-time onsite expectations except for bi-weekly work-from-home Fridays. Frequent travel and substantial time in Texas project communities are required. Exceptions may be considered for exceptional candidates outside the company hubs.

What you will do

• Develop and execute community-engagement plans for each new data center project.
• Create stakeholder maps, community briefs, risk assessments, FAQs, presentations, construction updates, and public-information materials.
• Build relationships with residents, officials, first responders, civic organizations, schools, nonprofits, local businesses, and media.
• Plan and lead listening sessions, town halls, site tours, community meetings, and construction updates.
• Manage community investments, local donations, volunteer fire and emergency-service partnerships, workforce initiatives, and vendor programs.
• Monitor community sentiment, resolve concerns, escalate reputational risks, track commitments and budgets, and provide recommendations to project leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in community relations, public affairs, local government, economic development, or infrastructure, utility, or real-estate communications.
• Experience with construction, industrial development, energy, infrastructure, utility, or real-estate projects.
• Strong relationship-building skills with residents, elected officials, first responders, civic leaders, and community organizations.
• Excellent writing, public speaking, meeting facilitation, issue management, and judgment in sensitive situations.
• Ability to translate technical project information into clear, accessible language and collaborate with legal, construction, communications, technical, and executive teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently and spend substantial time in Texas project communities.

Nice to have

• Experience in the data center or AI industry.
• Experience managing community-investment programs, local partnerships, stakeholder databases, or local media engagement.
• Familiarity with energy, infrastructure, utility, or industrial-development projects.
