Real Estate Editor (Temporary)

Location: New York City office; in-office Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on other days

Salary: $100,000–$104,000 USD base pay

What you will do

• Edit news stories and features about New York City real estate, development, neighborhoods, and urbanism.
• Generate assignments for staff writers and freelancers based on news and tips.
• Oversee two staff writers and one weekly permalancer.
• Help execute special packages and editorial projects.
• Coordinate with editors across Curbed and New York Magazine on visuals and social promotion.

Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of editorial experience covering New York City real estate, neighborhoods, and development.
• Deep knowledge of New York City and its real estate industry, including major players and developments.
• Track record of publishing smart, ambitious stories.
• Experience managing staff writers and working with freelancers.
• Strong big-picture thinking and rigorous line-editing skills.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and keep them on track.
