Real Estate Editor (Temporary)

Location: New York, NY; in-office Tuesday through Thursday with remote flexibility on other days.

Salary: $100,000–$104,000 USD annual base pay for a two-month temporary contract.

What you will do

• Edit news stories and features covering NYC real estate and development.
• Generate assignments for staff writers and freelancers from news and tips.
• Oversee two staff writers and one weekly permalancer.
• Help execute special packages and editorial projects.
• Coordinate with Curbed and New York Magazine editors on visuals and social promotion.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of New York City real estate, including major players and developments.
• 3–5 years of editorial experience covering NYC real estate, neighborhoods, and development.
• A track record of publishing smart, ambitious stories.
• Experience managing staff writers and working with freelancers.
• Strong line-editing, big-picture thinking, collaboration, and project-management skills.
