Reporter, Pro Deals (M&A)

Location: Remote within the United States; this is a remote-optional role, and salary eligibility depends on the candidate's U.S. location.

Starting salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, depending on location, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Report and break news on mergers, LBOs, hostile takeovers, and other M&A activity.
• Develop scoops, exclusives, trend stories, and conceptual stories for the hirify.global Pro Deals audience.
• Build and maintain sources across banks, law firms, advisers, and the broader M&A community.
• Explain the significance of deals clearly for a professional dealmaking audience.
• Appear as an expert on television, radio, podcasts, social media, and at industry conferences.
• Collaborate with internal and external audiences in a high-pressure news environment.

Requirements

• Subject matter expertise in the M&A landscape.
• Exceptional writing and story-development skills.
• Experience pursuing news, scoops, and exclusives.
• Strong sourcing among banks, law firms, advisers, and other M&A stakeholders.
• Experience speaking at conferences and appearing on television, radio, or podcasts as an expert.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and support a diverse and inclusive environment.
