What you will do
- Manage actuarial staff, including hiring, coaching, performance management, development, and productivity oversight.
- Lead preparation of rate filings for large group, small group, direct pay, and senior products.
- Partner with Underwriting and Rating, Sales, and Product Management and Development on compliant rating strategies.
- Provide advanced support for claim reserves and risk management related to new product pricing.
- Analyze premium trends, identify shifts across products and regions, and recommend pricing actions.
- Develop and implement actuarial policies, programs, and operational practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong emphasis in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- At least 8 years of experience in an actuarial role.
- At least 5 years of management experience or experience leading teams or projects of varying size and complexity.
- ASA or ACAS designation and pursuit of FSA or FCAS designation through the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries.
- Strong supervisory, communication, organizational, and project management skills, with extensive knowledge of actuarial methods and procedures.
Nice to have
- At least 10 years of actuarial experience.
- FSA or FCAS fellowship designation.
- In-depth knowledge of premium rate calculations, required reserves, plan design, trend analysis, rate table construction, actuarial research, or systems development.
