UX Principal, Design Systems (eCommerce)

Location: Remote Illinois, United States

Base salary: $127,600–$214,700 per year, plus potential bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the design system across hirify.global’s commerce ecosystem, including its visual language, interaction patterns, and reusable components.
• Partner with Design and Engineering to align Figma libraries, shared components, design tokens, and production code.
• Define system governance, documentation, contribution models, and scalable design standards.
• Advance component libraries, variables, design tokens, prototyping, and design-to-code workflows.
• Improve product quality, accessibility, consistency, maintainability, and designer productivity across multiple teams.
• Drive strategic roadmap initiatives, design sprints, new interaction patterns, and AI-assisted design and development workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Product, UX, Visual, or Experience Design, including significant enterprise-scale design systems experience.
• Expertise in design systems architecture, component libraries, design tokens, variables, interaction patterns, documentation, governance, and contribution models.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills with a portfolio demonstrating polished, reusable product experiences.
• Experience designing for desktop, responsive web, and native mobile platforms.
• Understanding of design systems implementation in code and experience collaborating closely with Engineering.
• Excellent systems thinking, communication, facilitation, and cross-functional alignment skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ecommerce, marketplaces, seller tools, SaaS, fintech, or other complex product ecosystems.
• Experience implementing AI-assisted design and development workflows.
• Familiarity with gaming, hobbies, collectibles, or trading card games.
