Engineering Manager (Manufacturing Automation)

What you will do

• Set the strategic direction for manufacturing processes, including new opportunities, equipment selection, process inputs, technologies, and techniques.
• Develop and implement automation projects to reduce direct labor costs and lead continuous improvement across manufacturing and technical teams.
• Use KPIs, manufacturing data, Plex ERP/MRP, and statistical analysis tools to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, problem solving, and variation reduction.
• Mentor, coach, and review engineering staff while building performance accountability and collaborative teams.
• Lead quotation and new-business launch project activities; communicate with customers on engineering, quality, and business matters.
• Oversee maintenance resources, environmental and hazardous-waste compliance, production equipment requirements, and safety-system execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of manufacturing experience, including 5 years as an engineering manager.
• Experience leading and implementing automation projects.
• Strong experience with ERP/MRP software, Microsoft Office, CAD, and Minitab.
• Experience leading DOE projects, SPC analysis, and Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
• Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, conflict-resolution, mathematical, reasoning, and in-depth problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and building collaborative teams.
• Knowledge of interpreting financial statements and budgets.
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 or other regulated environment.
