Assembly Operator - Mechanical Production Technician (2nd Shift) (m/f/d) (Wind Turbines)

Location: Onsite in West Branch, Iowa, United States; 2nd shift.

What you will do

• Assemble wind turbine nacelles, hubs, drive trains, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and other mechanical components.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, measuring instruments, and overhead cranes.
• Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, quality procedures, and production schedules.
• Perform torquing, alignment, fit-up, material handling, safety inspections, and housekeeping.
• Work with quality assurance and engineering teams on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, audits, and continuous improvement.
• Support other production areas, including electrical assembly, as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly or heavy manufacturing.
• Mechanical certifications or technical training, with experience in wind turbine, automotive, or industrial equipment assembly preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, technical documentation, and detailed work instructions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required overhead crane operator certification and pass a respiratory fit test.
• Fluent English is required for safety communication, instructions, and collaboration with supervisors and colleagues; ability to work at heights and follow strict safety procedures is essential.
