Salary: $216,750–$255,000 per year for Region 1 US locations.

What you will do

  • Own the acoustic architecture for next-generation hardware, including MEMS microphone and speaker driver selection.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering on acoustic enclosures, ports, gaskets, and hardware-level performance.
  • Perform electro-acoustic characterization and validation using Audio Precision, Klippel, Listen SoundCheck, and anechoic chambers.
  • Define and tune gain control, EQ, dynamic range compression, ANC, AEC, and multi-microphone beamforming.
  • Integrate sensors into wearable hardware while optimizing calibration, noise management, power efficiency, and signal quality.
  • Lead cross-functional technical decisions, supplier coordination, documentation, and sensor roadmap contributions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in acoustics, microphone systems, or speaker design and integration.
  • Experience shipping high-volume products.
  • Strong background in acoustic characterization, signal quality analysis, embedded systems, and data integrity.
  • Ability to work across hardware, firmware, algorithms, analytics, systems, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, technical documentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role based in San Francisco, California.
