Senior Systems Engineering Technician (AI Hardware)

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 annually, plus potential bonus and equity

What you will do

• Build, assemble, align, and integrate complex mechanical systems and precision hardware.
• Perform electrical diagnostics, continuity checks, power testing, and root-cause analysis across wiring, PCBs, sensors, and control systems.
• Install, test, and maintain water-cooled subsystems, including pumps, manifolds, flow sensors, and leak-detection components.
• Support prototype builds and lab operations using evolving engineering inputs and incomplete documentation.
• Set up instrumentation, collect performance data, and provide actionable feedback to engineering teams.
• Create or refine build instructions, test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and issue tickets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as an engineering technician in mechanical, electrical, or multidisciplinary hardware environments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an R&D or prototype lab.
• Strong mechanical assembly skills, including torquing, alignment, precision fitting, and interpreting mechanical drawings.
• Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, energized systems, and water- or fluid-cooled systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and test procedures.
• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque tools, calipers, flow meters, and data-logging equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with prototype hardware, early-stage product development, or research environments.
• Knowledge of thermal systems, heat exchangers, or coolant loop design.
• Ability to create or update work instructions, test plans, and build documentation.
• Experience with large assemblies, tight tolerances, and high-precision components.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
