AV Engineer

Location: Based in the San Francisco or New York City offices; expected to work in the office 75% of the time and travel for up to 8 weeks domestically and internationally.

Annual salary: $285,000–$325,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead AV design, procurement, programming, commissioning, and deployment for new offices, expansions, and retrofits.
• Create system schematics, line diagrams, rack elevations, programming logic, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation.
• Build and maintain conference room, event, collaboration, streaming, and broadcast systems for meetings and company-wide events.
• Coordinate AV requirements with architects, contractors, workplace teams, integrators, vendors, IT, and Security.
• Develop automated solutions, test emerging AV technologies, and improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee global AV operations and provide event production, system maintenance, and operational support.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise AV systems.
• Proficiency with Q-Sys or similar control-system programming and hands-on experience with video conferencing platforms, particularly Google Meet.
• Ability to read and create AV technical drawings, including schematics, line diagrams, and rack elevations.
• Knowledge of audio DSP, acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, EQ, dynamics, and automixing.
• Familiarity with enterprise video distribution, streaming technologies, broadcast standards, and complex integrated systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Logitech video conferencing systems, Q-Sys Level 2, CTS or CTS-D certification, and Lua scripting in Q-Sys.
• Background in broadcast production, live event engineering, AV installation, or large-scale office technology deployments.
• Experience with Netgear AV over IP systems, including QLAN, Dante, or SMPTE 2110.
• Familiarity with Appspace or similar digital signage platforms, acoustical design, and Google Workspace administration.
• Experience working in high-growth technology companies.
