Senior Counsel-Labor and Employment (Healthcare)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, United States

Salary: $168,000–$231,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage employment litigation from inception through resolution, including complex disputes and restrictive covenant matters.
• Set case strategy and collaborate with outside counsel on staffing, budgets, and litigation execution.
• Lead internal investigations into workplace issues.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies, handbooks, and training materials.
• Advise Human Resources and business leaders on employee relations, performance management, leave, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, and separations.
• Provide risk-based legal guidance on federal, state, and local employment law compliance.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 7+ years of dedicated labor and employment law experience across law firm and in-house corporate settings.
• Active membership in a state bar association.
• Strong business judgment, negotiation, and practical legal advisory skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize in a complex organization, and collaborate with stakeholders including senior leadership.
• Commitment to improving consumer experiences in healthcare.
