Sr. Product Engineer (Systems Assembly)

Base salary: $62,500–$237,500 per year

What you will do

• Partner with multidisciplinary design teams to embed design-for-X activities early in the hardware development cycle.
• Define and support the transition from advanced prototypes to low-rate production, ensuring manufacturability, technical feasibility, and reliability.
• Translate product specifications and requirements into production capability and process requirements.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal services to align requirements, capabilities, and program deliverables.
• Use CAD tools to develop product concepts, test products for usability and safety, and support manufacturing standards.
• Identify system-level technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and recommend design or process changes based on quantitative results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7–15 years of experience in product engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with design-for-X principles, cross-functional collaboration, vendor management, and manufacturing transition.
• Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is required.
• Ability to solve complex problems, communicate across multidisciplinary teams, and manage competing priorities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Department of Defense Manufacturing Readiness Level process.
• Current in-scope Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
