Implant Maintenance Technician

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; onsite work in the manufacturing facility with compressed day or night shifts.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective maintenance on implant-area semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including implant tool components and consumables.
• Diagnose equipment alarms, analyze operational and tool data, and create action plans to resolve issues.
• Improve system performance, eliminate recurring tool breakdowns, and recommend maintenance procedure improvements using SPC, 5S, and FDC systems.
• Work with engineers and cross-functional teams to design and execute equipment improvement projects while meeting safety, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Document maintenance activities, communicate machine status during pass-down meetings, and train other technicians.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electronic skills, including the ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with troubleshooting semiconductor equipment; AMAT Viistas, Axcelis GSDs, and AMAT Quantums are preferred.
• Knowledge of SPC and problem-solving methods in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume facility.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per shift and work compressed day or night shifts.
• Basic computer and MS Office skills, strong written and verbal communication, and verifiable references.

Nice to have

• AA, AS, or AAS degree in electronics or an industrial engineering-related discipline.
• Experience rebuilding or repairing ion sources, flood guns, aperture electrodes, or electromagnetic energy reflectors.
• Equivalent experience or military training in place of formal education.
