Test Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States

Salary: $60,000–$80,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop written test and inspection procedures from customer specifications and engineering drawing packages.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to validate test methods and verify the accuracy of test instructions.
• Support production personnel in resolving technical issues during manufacturing.
• Isolate the causes of test failures and provide feedback on proposed solutions.
• Perform gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies and monitor test equipment performance.
• Support root cause and corrective action efforts for test anomalies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics; Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering may be considered with a strong electrical background.
• Technical literacy with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Ability to troubleshoot and isolate hardware failures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia and access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of problem-solving frameworks and RCCA activities.
• Knowledge of programming structures and algorithms.
• Experience with LabVIEW or Python.
