Software Engineer (Java Backend)

Location: Kaunas, Lithuania; hybrid work with at least 3 office days per week. Working from almost anywhere is available for up to 20 days per year.

Salary: €2,700–€3,990 gross monthly, plus significant yearly bonuses of approximately 10% of annual salary and a Booking Holdings RSU package worth $20,000 gross.

hirify.global is a travel search and booking platform within Booking Holdings, operating global metasearch brands and a corporate travel solution.

What you will do

• Implement backend search and booking features with guidance from senior engineers.
• Improve existing functionality with a focus on performance and user experience.
• Create and maintain integrations with third-party travel APIs.
• Help operate technology connecting users with hundreds of travel partners, airlines, and hotels.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional Java experience.
• Familiarity with Spring and SQL databases.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Computer Science or related education.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from the Kaunas office at least 3 days per week.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search technologies.
