Associate Manager, AI Research Lab Strategy & Operations (AI)

Location: San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York, United States

Salary: $124,000–$155,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Translate frontier AI research into shipped products, scalable infrastructure, and measurable business impact.
• Reimagine merchant experiences by partnering with merchants, sales, support, product, and engineering teams.
• Own revenue-driving AI initiatives and connect technical progress to financial outcomes.
• Lead business planning, go-to-market strategy, resource allocation, project execution, and KPI tracking.
• Build measurement frameworks, evaluation datasets, guardrails, monitoring systems, and AI experimentation environments.
• Operationalize external AI technologies, run rapid experiments, validate product-market fit, and drive adoption across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in finance, management consulting, business operations, business analytics, or high-growth startup environments.
• Strong communication and operating skills, with the ability to work directly with merchants and internal operational teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to structure ambiguous, 0-to-1 problems and create actionable measurement frameworks.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor for discovery, workflow prototyping, evaluation datasets, and hypothesis testing.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers on model evaluation and with partners on strategic AI initiatives.
• Work location must be one of the listed United States locations.

Nice to have

• Direct experience productizing LLM or ML systems.
• Experience shipping AI features, building evaluation datasets, or operating model-performance feedback loops.
