Layout Engineer - Labs, DoorDash Air (Robotics)

Salary: $212,200–$312,000 USD base salary, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end PCB layout in Altium Designer, from floorplanning and component placement through routing and fabrication and assembly release.
• Design dense, multilayer, controlled-impedance flight hardware combining power and motor-drive, RF/comms, and high-speed digital circuitry.
• Optimize layouts for airborne size, weight, thermal, signal-integrity, and power-integrity constraints.
• Own DFM, DFA, and DFT activities and produce stackups, fabrication and assembly drawings, and Gerber/ODB++ outputs.
• Apply EMI/EMC-aware grounding and layout strategies and maintain footprint libraries and layout standards.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, power, reliability, and manufacturing engineers while supporting board bring-up, debugging, and rework.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on PCB layout experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on PCB layout experience and a portfolio of complex, shipped multilayer boards.
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer and experience owning layouts through fabrication and assembly release.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, controlled impedance, return paths, decoupling, stackups, and plane design.
• Experience with mixed-signal layouts covering power, RF, and high-speed digital domains.
• Working knowledge of DFM, DFA, and IPC standards, plus the ability to work independently as the sole layout owner.

Nice to have

• Experience with drone/UAV, aerospace, robotics, or EV hardware.
• Rigid-flex or flex PCB layout experience for weight- and space-constrained designs.
• RF and antenna layout, high-current power or motor-drive layouts, and ECAD-to-MCAD co-design.
• Experience with high-reliability or harsh-environment hardware and establishing layout processes in an early-stage hardware organization.
