  • Drive architecture decisions for microcontroller-based systems and develop PCBA requirements with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, debugging, design verification, and system integration testing.
  • Lead environmental testing, including EMI/EMC, thermal-vacuum, shock, and vibration testing.
  • Select electronic components, manage engineering bills of material, and support sourcing, supplier selection, procurement, and production readiness.
  • Guide design-for-manufacturability and testability, mentor support engineers, and lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • At least 8 years of electrical hardware design experience and the ability to develop blank-sheet design concepts.
  • Experience with motor-control applications, analog signal chains, SPICE circuit analysis, board bring-up, and debugging.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • U.S. office roles are subject to ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee or asylum status, or applicable government authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with field-oriented control, switch-mode power supplies, space electronics, radiation effects, SEU/SEL mitigation, and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with Altium Designer, PCBA verification and validation, environmental and EMI/EMC testing, and system modeling with Simulink.
  • Experience with parametric, sensitivity, worst-case, or FMEA analysis.
  • Experience with BOM development, material planning, supplier sourcing, component alternates, and design-for-manufacturability reviews.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on fast-paced development of real space hardware.
  • Employee stock purchase program with a 15% discount and company equity as part of total compensation.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, including HMO, PPO, and zero-cost HDHP options with HSA contributions.
  • Paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, parental leave, disability and life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
