FPV Pilot – Acro Line-of-Sight Specialist, DoorDash Air (UAS)

Location: Fully onsite at the Bay Point, California test facility, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Salary: $28.40–$41.80 USD per hour

What you will do

• Operate small and mid-size multi-rotor and fixed-wing UAS platforms in acro mode within visual line of sight.
• Conduct test flights, calibration routines, and performance evaluations under engineering supervision.
• Provide systems and flight engineers with data-driven feedback on flight performance, control tuning, and system reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of flight hours, aircraft condition, and anomalies.
• Support safety and compliance procedures under FAA Part 107 and internal operating standards.
• Participate in system validation, prototype evaluations, design reviews, and test readiness reviews.

Requirements

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required and subject to verification.
• 100+ hours of logged FPV flight time and at least one year of consistent acro-mode flight experience.
• Demonstrated multi-rotor UAS operations and precise manual acro-mode control within visual line of sight without goggles.
• Working knowledge of FAA small UAS regulations and operational best practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly and translate flight behavior into engineering insights.
• Strong situational awareness and adherence to test-site safety standards.

Nice to have

• Experience operating fixed-wing RC aircraft.
• Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, Auterion, and Herelink.
• Technical background in UAS systems, aerodynamics, or flight-controls integration.
• Video footage of recent acro line-of-sight FPV flights for evaluation.
• Experience in structured flight-test environments or R&D programs.
