Spacecraft Assembly & Integration Operator Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Stevenage, South East UK; fully onsite five days a week. The role is permanent and may require security clearance, including Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

What you will do

• Perform assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace and space systems according to engineering procedures and work instructions.
• Prepare hardware and equipment for integration and testing activities.
• Support electrical and mechanical integration activities.
• Execute functional tests and accurately record results.
• Identify and report non-conformances, anomalies, and defects.
• Complete manufacturing and quality documentation while supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, integration, or testing.
• Background in aerospace, space, defence, electronics, automotive, or another highly regulated industry.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Strong hands-on engineering skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Stevenage and meet applicable security-clearance criteria.

Nice to have

• Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) experience.
• Experience with aerospace, satellite, or space-related hardware.
• Cleanroom experience.
• Electrical testing or mechanical assembly experience.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and documentation.
