What you will do

• Conduct cross-country and single-country economic and econometric analyses of current policy issues.
• Contribute to semi-annual forecasting rounds and develop or maintain the Economics Department’s analytical tools.
• Draft working papers, economic surveys, outlooks, policy notes, articles, press releases, and briefings for senior officials.
• Collaborate with data scientists, statisticians, trainees, and other hirify.global directorates.
• Engage with government officials, international organisations, country delegations, academics, and other policy stakeholders.
• Represent the department at meetings, missions, and conferences and support dissemination through social media communications.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree at Master’s or PhD level in economics, econometrics, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in applied economic research and policy analysis.
• Strong knowledge of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and policy.
• Excellent econometric skills and proven experience conducting applied technical and policy-oriented research.
• Fluency in English or French and knowledge of the other official hirify.global language, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
• Ability to adapt communication to diverse audiences and backgrounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with data science and microdata for policy analysis.
• Publication record and expertise in macroeconomics, fiscal policy, structural reforms, labour markets, environmental economics, or political economy.
• Knowledge of additional languages.
