Research Fellow in Health Economics

What you will do

• Design and implement health economics research using robust statistical methods in R, Stata, or comparable software.
• Analyse real-world health and care data to assess the value for money of innovations and new ways of working.
• Structure, populate, and analyse decision analytical models.
• Design and deliver complex economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and return-on-investment analyses.
• Lead co-production of research with external stakeholders and contribute to methodological development for rapid evaluations.
• Work with theme leads and the NIHR ARC-GM team to produce timely insights supporting implementation, scaling, or de-implementation decisions.

Requirements

• Relevant academic training and a PhD, or equivalent experience, in health economics or a related subject.
• Substantial experience developing and implementing innovation-focused economic analyses using routine and comparative data.
• Substantial experience with at least one statistical or decision-modelling package, such as R, Stata, WinBUGS, or OpenBUGS.
• Ability to design, conduct, and deliver complex economic evaluations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
