Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Montreal, or Ottawa, Canada

Compensation: CA$300K–CA$375K plus equity

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of backend and full-stack software engineers.
• Participate in model releases and develop new inference API capabilities and SDKs.
• Work closely with Modelling and Model Serving teams.
• Collaborate with UX designers to improve customer workflows for team management, API keys, billing, and configurations.
• Oversee and contribute to open source projects.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams and a proven record of delivering high-quality software.
• Experience shipping products involving a large number of stakeholders.
• Comfort with both frontend and backend development, including previous experience with Go, Next.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Passion for recruiting and growing people and teams.
• Strong team rapport-building skills and prioritization of regular 1:1s.
• Excellent communication skills and belief in documentation as a way to gather feedback and discuss technical implementations and designs.
• Ability to explain complex needs and goals clearly to different audiences.
• Excitement about AI and motivation to help scale a company.
