Principal Fire Engineer / Consultant

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates; based in Dubai and supporting projects across the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

What you will do

• Develop innovative, performance-based fire engineering solutions across diverse sectors and provide technical leadership for code-compliant, technically robust outcomes.
• Lead complex Fire and Life Safety projects, including building plan and fire code reviews, fire engineering analyses, technical report preparation, site inspection oversight, and alternative compliance strategy development.
• Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative compliance solutions.
• Manage approximately 4–7 Fire Engineers, mentor junior engineers, and promote technical excellence, collaboration, and team engagement.
• Build client relationships, support business development, and act as a trusted advisor in discussions with design teams, clients, and Civil Defence authorities.
• Support project planning, resource management, commercial performance, and awareness of industry developments, emerging technologies, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Postgraduate-level or higher qualification in Engineering, preferably Fire Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, with chartered Engineer status or progress toward chartership.
• At least 13 years of experience in Building Code and Fire and Life Safety consulting within a professional consultancy environment.
• Proven Middle East experience in building code consulting, performance-based design, plan reviews, field reviews, and Fire and Life Safety inspections for leading multidisciplinary projects in large and complex scenarios.
• An established client network and the ability and willingness to support business growth.
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills, including the ability to mentor teams and engage clients.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and business growth.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Fire Engineering or equivalent professional certification.
