Senior Discipline Engineer - HVAC

Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; based in the UAE office with site visits whenever required.

What you will do

• Lead HVAC design and detailed engineering activities for onshore and offshore EPC projects.
• Prepare and review heat load, ventilation, pressurization, and smoke control calculations.
• Size and select chillers, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, ducting, and ventilation systems.
• Develop and review HVAC layouts, duct routing, schematics, and material take-offs.
• Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, equipment data sheets, and technical bid evaluations.
• Support construction, installation, testing, commissioning, design reviews, client discussions, RFIs, and design-related NCR resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12–15 years of experience in HVAC design within EPC projects.
• Strong experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, or Industrial projects.
• Proven expertise in HVAC system design, calculations, and equipment selection, including heat load calculations, ventilation, pressurization, and smoke control systems.
• Thorough knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO, API, and project specifications.
• Proficiency in HAP and AutoCAD, plus experience with 3D design tools such as PDMS or E3D.
• Strong experience reviewing vendor technical submissions and datasheets.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and support construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Good written and spoken English, ability to work independently, meet tight project deadlines, solve problems, make timely decisions, demonstrate project management skills, and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
