Instrument Engineer (Oil and Gas)

hirify.global is supporting a major full-field oil development in southern Iraq involving approximately 220 wells, a 210 kbopd central processing facility, and interfaces with neighbouring infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Lead Instrument, Control and Telecom (IC&T) engineering for the Network Wellpads and Pipelines package.
• Coordinate IC&T activities across engineering disciplines, construction, the Engineering Manager, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Review and approve IC&T designs, drawings, specifications, documentation, and the Master Document Register.
• Identify safe-by-design opportunities, technical risks, mitigation measures, and opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and cost control.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor clarifications, HAZOP, SIL assessment, SIF identification workshops, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Manage design changes, resolve IC&T issues, maintain quality standards, and provide support to procurement and construction teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of IC&T engineering experience, preferably on large-scale oil and gas projects.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing IC&T engineering, ideally on EPC projects.
• Strong technical command of IC&T engineering practices.
• Proven ability to lead IC&T engineering, manage design changes, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Arabic or Chinese language skills.
