Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Nottingham, United Kingdom; hybrid working with two days per week in the Nottingham office

What you will do

• Design and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for an analytics platform.
• Build reusable, self-service platform capabilities for engineering teams.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code, provisioning automation, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve platform reliability, resilience, scalability, performance, and developer experience.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across multi-account AWS environments.
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, and cloud governance.

Requirements

• Hands-on AWS experience building and operating production cloud platforms.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient environments with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, reusable infrastructure modules, and operational tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, observability, and operational support skills.
• Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and hybrid networking concepts.
• Understanding of IAM, secrets management, encryption, network security, AWS Well-Architected principles, and cloud governance.
