Platform Engineer (Cloud Security)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain shared AWS cloud infrastructure, platform tooling, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Define infrastructure as code and establish secure-by-default configurations, observability, testing, and operational standards.
• Build automated security and compliance checks, reporting, and evidence collection supporting ISO 27001 commitments.
• Strengthen cloud identity, access, secrets, credentials, and machine identity controls, working toward least privilege.
• Maintain edge and network security tooling and extend platform standards from AWS to Google Cloud.
• Support other engineering squads through collaboration, pairing, documentation, operational ownership, and technical feedback.

Requirements

• Commercial experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using CDK, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Experience building and maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including identity and access management, secrets management, network controls, and encryption.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, ideally Python.
• Comfort working in a regulated environment, including FCA regulation and ISO 27001 commitments.

Nice to have

• Security specialization in cloud security posture management, security tooling, threat modelling, or compliance automation.
• Experience with more than one cloud provider, ideally AWS and Google Cloud.

Hiring process

• Four interview stages conducted via Zoom: Talent conversation, hiring manager meeting, technical scenario interview, and conversation with the Head of Security.
