Cloud Platform Lead (Azure)

Location: Hybrid working with 3 days per week on site in Glasgow city centre; the posting header also references Ipswich.

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum, plus a discretionary bonus typically ranging from 3–5%.

What you will do

• Design and implement the Azure platform, including landing zones, reference architectures, hosting, and automation.
• Set engineering standards for resilience, security, scalability, and performance.
• Lead cloud migration and modernisation, including hybrid integration with the legacy on-premises estate.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD adoption across the organisation.
• Build secure-by-design platforms aligned with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Define runbooks, monitoring, alerting, cost visibility, and FinOps practices while collaborating with infrastructure, workplace, security, and data teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with strong hands-on Azure platform engineering.
• Proven delivery of cloud migration and modernisation programmes.
• Experience owning Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines end to end, using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
• Strong knowledge of networking, identity including Entra ID, and cloud security.
• Experience in ITIL-aligned service organisations.
• Ability to work on site in Glasgow three days per week.

Nice to have

• Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305, or equivalent.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
• FinOps experience.
