Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Cloud)

What you will do

• Own the operational health, reliability, security, and continual improvement of customer public cloud and hybrid cloud services.
• Operate compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup, and recovery services across major public cloud platforms.
• Support hybrid environments connecting public cloud with on-premises datacentres, private cloud platforms, edge locations, and legacy systems.
• Manage dependencies across cloud platforms, virtualisation, operating systems, networks, identity services, databases, applications, and third-party integrations.
• Develop automation and infrastructure as code for deployment, configuration, validation, remediation, reporting, and recurring operational tasks.
• Lead technical escalation for complex incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement controlled changes, and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Typically 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations, managed services, consultancy, or complex in-house environments.
• Professional certification in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or a comparable public cloud platform.
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent service-management qualification with practical incident, problem, change, service request, and knowledge management experience.
• Strong knowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud architecture, including compute, storage, networking, virtualisation, identity, security, backup, recovery, and platform services.
• Experience with cloud governance, access control, privileged access, configuration standards, compliance, cost management, observability, and operational guardrails.
• Practical experience with automation, scripting, and infrastructure as code using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or provider-native deployment frameworks.
