Senior Management Accountant (Fintech)

Location: London; hybrid working.

What you will do

• Own centralized month-end close processes, including trial balance reviews, accruals, inter-company reconciliations, and balance sheet controls.
• Lead monthly management reporting and balance sheet control for a US-regulated entity, providing accurate, timely, and insightful analysis.
• Manage complex reconciliations, control accounts, settlement and transit accounts, journal postings, and resolution of aged or non-balancing items.
• Analyse month-on-month profit and loss and balance sheet movements and prepare financial slides and commentary for Group close presentations.
• Partner with the Settlement and Reconciliation team in Serbia and manage external Group and small-entity audit requests and deliverables.
• Design and strengthen financial controls and processes, support automation, guide junior team members, approve regular AP payment runs, and deputise for the Deputy Financial Controller on defined workstreams.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant with ACCA or ACA qualification.
• At least 4–5 years of post-qualified experience with demonstrable exposure to complex and technical accounting matters.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, plus solid knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and tax.
• Proven ability to work independently and own complex deliverables from start to finish.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and confidence working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar major accounting system.
• Curious, driven, solution-oriented approach with the ability to investigate root causes and develop appropriate solutions.
• Strong attention to detail, sound technical judgement, clear written and verbal communication, and confidence explaining complex financial data to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-starting approach, willingness to learn, and drive to take on stretch responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Functional understanding of NetSuite.
• Technical capability in automation and process improvement projects using data tools such as SQL and Databricks.
• Experience in a high-growth technology company, preferably fintech, or best-practice exposure from a larger organisation or external audit firm.
• Understanding of the payments industry.
