What you will do

• Own centralized month-end close processes, including trial balance reviews, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, and balance sheet controls.
• Lead monthly management reporting and balance sheet control for a US-regulated entity.
• Resolve complex settlement, transit, control account, and reconciliation issues, including residual and non-balancing positions.
• Prepare and review journals involving FX, intercompany transactions, accruals, and safeguarding, applying technical accounting judgement.
• Support Group close presentations, external and smaller-entity audits, and technical finance projects.
• Design stronger financial controls, improve processes, drive automation, and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant with ACCA or ACA.
• At least 4–5 years of post-qualified experience with complex and technical accounting matters.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, accounting, financial reporting, and tax.
• Proven ability to independently own complex deliverables and resolve ambiguous problems end to end.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and confidence working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with NetSuite or a comparable major accounting system, plus strong communication and technical judgement.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to automation and process improvement using SQL or Databricks.
• Background in a high-growth technology or fintech company, larger organisation, or external audit firm.
• Understanding of the payments industry.
