Financial Controller (AI)

Advertising technology product company developing a SaaS platform that uses Generative AI to improve content creation and expand access to AI-powered advertising.

What you will do

• Own and continuously strengthen internal controls across P2P, O2C, payroll, and expenses, including a recurring monthly operational hygiene review.
• Provide final review of management accounts, revenue recognition, and accounts payable runs, plus first review of monthly payroll before Head of Finance approval.
• Own monthly workings for internally developed costs and maintain appropriate audit controls.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury, including final sign-off on bank payments.
• Provide senior judgement on complex revenue recognition, accounts payable, cost management, accruals, risk, and other financial matters.
• Own banking, vendor, software, and escalation relationships, while streamlining finance operations through AI and maintaining the finance function’s AI usage policy.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with UK experience; ACCA, ACA, or CIMA required.
• At least 5 years of finance experience, including at least 2 years of industry experience.
• Experience owning financial controls and processes in a fast-paced, scaling business, ideally in SaaS or technology.
• Ability to manage cash flow independently, including bank payment sign-off.
• Track record of making and standing behind senior judgement calls on accruals, revenue treatment, and risk.
• Confidence using modern finance tools such as Xero, ApprovalMax, Maxio, or equivalent.
• Demonstrable AI skills for optimizing finance workflows and efficiency.
• Strong ownership, practical problem-solving, and willingness to build processes from a genuine gap rather than only maintain existing systems.
