FP&A Data Analyst (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid

What you will do

• Own and extend the finance data layer in dbt, including models, tests, documentation, and data quality.
• Build and maintain revenue, unit economics, operations cost, management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting models.
• Maintain Python services and pipelines supporting finance reporting and reconciliation.
• Map product and payments data sources, document business logic, and onboard new products, partners, and markets into financial reporting.
• Build dashboards, explain business performance and variances, and support management, investor, and regulatory reporting.
• Identify anomalies and data quality issues, investigate root causes, improve controls, and promote finance data self-service.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a data, analytics, or FP&A role, ideally in fintech, banking, or payments.
• Strong SQL and solid Python skills.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or a similar transformation tool and Git.
• Good understanding of financial statements, management accounts, accruals, revenue recognition, and unit economics.
• Quantitative background gained through education or experience.
• Strong attention to detail, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Clear communication skills, including explaining variances to a CFO and data models to engineers.
• Initiative to automate repetitive work and improve processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulatory or external reporting.
• Exposure to reconciliations, treasury, or general ledger data.
• Experience with BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, or Power BI and orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience maintaining production code, including code review, testing, and CI/CD.
• Spanish or Portuguese proficiency.
