TL;DR
Technical Lead Windows & SQL Server (Windows Server/SQL Server): Defining and modernizing enterprise infrastructure services for Managed IaaS with an accent on platform reliability, security, automation, and lifecycle management. Focus on translating architecture into executable solutions, solving complex operational challenges, and guiding engineers through technical decisions.
Location: Hybrid work in The Hague, Netherlands; the team also includes engineers in Prague.
Salary: €6,378–€8,504 per month based on 36 hours, depending on knowledge and experience.

What you will do
- Define the technical direction and roadmap for Windows Server and SQL Server services within Managed IaaS.
- Translate architectural decisions into practical solutions and contribute to Architecture Decision Records, Solution Intents, and technical documentation.
- Safeguard technical quality through reviews, standards, security baselines, and best practices.
- Support engineers with complex technical challenges while maintaining team ownership and autonomy.
- Drive automation, standardization, continuous improvement, and modernization of infrastructure services.
- Represent the team in technical forums and collaborate with architects, security specialists, application teams, infrastructure teams, and operations.
Requirements
- Several years of experience managing Windows Server and/or SQL Server environments in an enterprise setting.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server and solid knowledge of SQL Server administration, performance, security, backup and recovery, and high availability.
- Strong PowerShell skills and experience with scripting, automation, and standardization.
- Experience with enterprise infrastructure, ITIL processes, controlled environments, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing technical leadership within an engineering team.
- Effective English communication is required; Dutch is an advantage.
Nice to have
- Experience with Ansible, Python, YAML, Desired State Configuration, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, or Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s level working and thinking ability in IT, Computer Science, or a comparable technical field.
