Senior OT Network Engineer

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands; hybrid setup with 40% office work, 40% home work and 20% flexible work. With manager approval, work abroad within approved countries is allowed for up to 3 weeks per year, with a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks. Must be based in the Netherlands.

Gross annual salary: €80,000–€120,000, including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance; a bonus or collective profit sharing may apply depending on the role.

What you will do

• Design, build and operate OT networks for wind, solar, battery energy storage and heat production assets.
• Deliver network solutions for new greenfield sites and existing brownfield environments from design through implementation and commissioning.
• Build secure and resilient site connectivity with network segmentation, IT/OT separation and provider-agnostic access.
• Troubleshoot live network and connectivity incidents, owning analysis, resolution, escalation and communication through completion.
• Improve OT network standards, lifecycle management, availability and reliability across the production asset landscape.
• Work with asset development, operations, architecture, security teams, vendors and integrators.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar network engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a related field.
• Solid expertise in network segmentation, routing, switching, firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Good understanding of security concepts and frameworks including ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.
• Hands-on experience with OT environments, including SCADA and PLC systems, and familiarity with IEC 60870-5-104, OPC-UA and Modbus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams, vendors and integrators.
• Willingness to join the 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Must be based in the Netherlands and have fluent English.
