Infrastructure Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: The Blender manufacturing site in Rotterdam, Netherlands; on-site role with 00%–25% travel required. Relocation is not provided.

What you will do

• Provide on-site infrastructure support for production environments, maintaining system stability, security, uptime, and operational continuity.
• Monitor and optimize servers, networks, virtualization platforms, cloud integrations, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Partner with plant-floor engineers, automation teams, operational technology leaders, and enterprise technology stakeholders.
• Lead tier-3 incident response, diagnose complex issues, isolate components, and drive swift resolution with clear documentation.
• Manage external vendors and local infrastructure deployments while aligning deliverables with technical and operational requirements.
• Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps, modernization, automation, cybersecurity, network segmentation, and secure IT/OT connectivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience in IT infrastructure.
• Proven hands-on infrastructure experience, ideally in manufacturing or operational technology environments.
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration and VMware virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, IP addressing, firewall configuration, switch management, and wireless connectivity.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft cloud platform administration.
• Experience deploying and managing hybrid infrastructures across Azure and on-premises environments.
• Demonstrated system troubleshooting, component isolation, and structured documentation skills.
• Ability to manage external vendors and align deliverables with operational needs.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical topics to cross-functional audiences; digital fluency and awareness of AI and automation in infrastructure operations.
• Commitment to sustainable operations and resilient, responsible technology solutions.
