Software Integration Engineer (Robotics)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; hybrid work with time in-office and time remote

Salary: $168,000–$247,000 USD per year, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Lead system-level debugging when issues cross subsystem boundaries.
• Support early integration of sensors and software components by identifying interface requirements, risks, dependencies, and validation checks.
• Design and maintain integration tests, test setups, and procedures for robotic subsystems.
• Build mission-readiness checks for manufacturing signoff, validation, field testing, and robot missions.
• Create provisioning tools, diagnostic checks, and debugging guidance for manufacturing, validation, field service, and fleet operations.
• Collaborate with electrical, hardware, firmware, controls, autonomy, and operations engineers.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex mechatronics systems.
• Professional experience writing reliable and performant Python and C++ code.
• Strong understanding of operating system concepts, software performance, and networking.
• Experience working with large codebases, source control, and build automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Buildkite.
• Ability to collaborate across software, controls, hardware, firmware, and autonomy disciplines.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS, ROS2, or other robotics middleware.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams spanning software, controls, and hardware.
